About the platform

Taking Part is a user-led platform that helps people discover activities, groups, and opportunities in their community. We provide tools to build a profile, express interests, and manage participation preferences.

Unless we clearly state otherwise, Taking Part is not the organiser of every activity listed on the platform. Many activities are run by independent community groups, venues, or partners.

Who can use Taking Part

You must be able to form a binding agreement under applicable law to use the platform. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

You agree that information you provide is accurate and that you will keep your account details up to date.

Your account

You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your login details secure.

Do not share your password or use another person’s account without permission.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, misuse the platform, or create safety risks for others.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for unlawful, harmful, harassing, or discriminatory purposes.
• Upload false, misleading, or impersonating information.
• Attempt to access another user’s data without authorisation.
• Interfere with the security or operation of the platform.
• Scrape, copy, or commercially exploit platform content without our written consent.

Activities and third parties

Listings, matches, and suggestions are provided for information and connection purposes. Participation in any activity is your choice.

You are responsible for assessing whether an activity, group, or outing is suitable for you, including health, accessibility, transport, and support needs.

Third-party organisers may have their own rules, costs, cancellation policies, and safety requirements.

NDIS and funding

References to NDIS-friendly support describe features that may assist participants. Taking Part does not guarantee NDIS funding, plan approval, or that any activity is claimable under an NDIS plan unless explicitly stated in writing by an authorised provider.

You are responsible for confirming funding and compliance with your plan, plan manager, or the NDIA.

Intellectual property

The Taking Part name, logo, website design, and platform content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission except as allowed by law.

You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant us a licence to store, display, and use it to operate the platform.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable laws.

To the extent permitted by law, Panoramic Services Pty Ltd trading as Taking Part is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from third-party activities, events, or services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) AUD $100, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Panoramic Services Pty Ltd trading as Taking Part against claims arising from your breach of these terms, misuse of the platform, or participation in activities where your conduct causes loss to others, except to the extent caused by our negligence or misconduct.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the platform at any time and may request account deletion by contacting privacy@takingpart.com.au.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or if necessary to protect users or the platform.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New South Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.
